Born in Havana, Cañizares mastered violin in Venezuela’s El Sistema programme. Now resident in Switzerland, she has since collaborated with a wide range of global artists. Her fourth solo album is a bewitching affair, her sparingly-used violin supported by rich arrangements that still leave her emotive, but refined, vocals centre-stage.
