We’re delighted to announce the winners of the 2022 Songlines Music Awards.
For 14 years the awards have shone a spotlight on the excellent artists who have been featured in Songlines magazine. Here, we reveal the winners of the Best Artist, Best Group, World Pioneer and Newcomer categories as well as the five geographical awards – Africa & Middle East, Americas, Europe, Asia & Pacific and Fusion. The live show of this year’s Songlines Music Awards was held at London’s Scala on November 2. Hosted by Cerys Matthews it featured live performances from iconic Balkan brass troupe Fanfare Ciocărlia; fusioneers Justin Adams & Mauro Durante; Afro-jazz juggernaut Balimaya Project and kora maestro Ballaké Sissoko. For those who were unable to attend in person, or anyone simply wanting to re-run the fun, you can watch highlights of all the evening’s performances and presentations below.
