This album from the London-based ensemble featuring the Keen brothers, percussionist Dave De Rose led by Moroccan Simo Lagnawi, offers up a healthy dose of Gnawa meets dub and motoric beats. The groove is exploratory while remaining embedded in tradition. Ancient ceremonial music is given a makeover with driving synth basslines and woozy electronics.
