The first solo release from the British sitarist/composer Jasdeep Singh Degun blends Hindustani classical and western harmony to create a unique sound-world of his own, with a well-chosen supporting cast of strings, tabla and guitar. The effect is cinematic and ambient. Our own reviewer detected the influence of the late Greek composer Vangelis, with whom Jasdeep had previously worked.
