The October 2024 (#201) issue of Songlines features an extensive interview with French film-maker and sound recordist Vincent Moon where he discusses his unique approach to making films, his nomadic lifestyle and how he approaches recording music from across the world. Vincent estimates that he's made close to 1,300 films in total, with additional sound recordings also available via his Bandcamp page. In fact, five of his sound recordings appear on our accompanying Top of the World compilation as bonus tracks, field recordings from Greece, Taiwan, Morocco, Uganda and Switzerland via Chile that are as yet to be released anywhere else.

To accompany the feature – as well as announce an ongoing partnership between Songlines and Vincent Moon which means we'll be able to bring our readers a selection of Vincent's music films from across the world, including many previously unreleased films – we wanted to highlight a selection of his films, some of which are mentioned in our interview with Vincent and all of which show his peerless work capturing music.
