©Marc Gasch
What are you listening to?
Wu-Lu’s Loggerhead and Hildur Guðnadóttir’s Tár soundtrack.
Your all-time favourite albums?
They change every day. I could say Abbey Road, Appetite for Destruction and The Life of Pablo, but then I don’t want to forget about classical music.
Musicians you most admire?
Most of the people I’ve worked with. I’ve learned so much from all of them, they have made me a better musician, and a better person.
Favourite new artists?
In 2022 I produced three albums and am proud of them all. I think the three artists responsible are amazing: [Tomás de] Perrate, Guitarricadelafuente and Niño de Elche.
Memorable musical encounter?
I worked with Cheikh Lô, as a guest on some shows. There I met Tony Allen, who I had always admired. Everything changed for me when he performed, it was like he was from another dimension.
First album you ever bought?
Queen’s Live Magic. I bought it after hearing ‘A Kind of Magic’ on the radio.
Your hidden talent?
I could sleep forever.
If you weren’t a musician, what would you be?
Dancer, cyclist, chef, theatre director… I have many interests and that influences the way I understand music – I don’t want it to be an obsession.
