Babel Music XP International Forum

Marseille’s international music forum makes a welcome return and calls for artists to apply for its showcase programme
Among all the gloomy reports of festival postponements and event cancellations, there's some good news just in with the announcement of the return of Marseille’s international music forum – formerly known as Babel Med – now Babel Music XP International Forum in 2021.
One of the world music industry’s most reputable expos, the last edition of Babel Med was held in 2017 at the Dock des Suds venue in Marseille, with funding cuts leading to its cancellation in 2018.
Babel Music XP, organised by Latinissimo in collaboration with the Zone Franche network, will provide a welcome opportunity for the music industry to gather and discuss current issues, particularly vital at the moment given the huge impact COVID-19 has had on the music sector. Besides hosting a trade fair and conference sessions, the event will also include an evening showcase concert programme featuring 30 groups that will be open to the public.
Artists who would like to be considered by Babel Music XP’s selection committee for the showcase programme can now apply online. Deadline is July 29.
