Latin indie champs Chicano Batman are ramping up the rapture with their mood-boosting new album, Notebook Fantasy, a fresh collection of 12 luscious cuts combining fried psychedelic funk, cumbia, catchy Motown-indebted vocal melodies and Junior Boys-esque electro-pop, out now via ATO Records.

Charged with fuzzed guitars, chillwave synths and sumptuous string orchestrations (check out the Spanish-language balladry of single ‘Era Primavera’, below), Notebook Fantasy finds Chicano Batman still influenced by classic ensembles such as Los Pasteles Verdes and Los Angeles Negros, while doubling down on the boldness and brightness of their previous works, to deliver a prismatic fantasia bustling with eclectic vibrancy, emotion and vision.

Coinciding with the album’s release, Chicano Batman have announced their first ever UK dates, with performances scheduled later this year at the Manchester Psych Fest (August 31) and Lafayette, London (September 4).
