Exclusive bonus Balkan CD with April issue

Bridge-builders for Balkan music – MOST – have curated an exclusive CD brimming with the region's finest sounds, and it's free with our April edition

Bridge For Balkan Music (Wider)

Featuring 12 artists selected by MOST to participate in this year's iteration of their Balkan Music Export Programme, The Bridge for Balkan Music Vol 2 is a compilation fully representative of the region's largely untapped potential, alive with verve, passion and virtuosity.

Speaking about the collection, MOST programme director Balázs Weyer, commented: "Following the first volume in the November 2020 issue (#162), this is the second selection of artists participating in the MOST project, a scheme established to support new music from the Balkans. The region is bursting with music, but the infrastructure for promoting the music needs development. That’s where MOST steps in, bringing this music of high energy and deep emotions, spiritual roots and contemporary vision, to a wider audience.

The 12 artists featured on this CD were selected from nearly 90 applications for the MOST Balkan Music Export Programme. Applications from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania and Serbia were eligible. Last time there were no artists from Albania, Croatia and North Macedonia, but this year there’s a total of five. The scene is developing!"
