Important news regarding the Songlines CD
We are making a change to our covermount CD that will affect those who buy Songlines from a retailer. Please read on to find out our plans, and why we are making this change
The next issue of Songlines, March 2024 (#195), which is out on January 26, will have one noticeable difference. Anyone who buys the issue from a newsagent or magazine retailer will not receive a covermount CD. For subscribers, there is no change at all, you will receive your CD with the magazine as usual, and digital subscribers will still be able to download the compilation as you've always done.
We have not given up on CDs yet, which we know are important to so many of our readers, but we want to improve our environmental impact. Magazines which are not sold at retail are recycled, but unsold CDs are more likely to end up in landfill and we’d rather they go directly to the readers who really want them.
For this reason, we are encouraging our readers to subscribe directly to Songlines, which will not only ensure less waste and improve our environmental impact, but will also help us generate more income that can be used to make the magazine better than ever for all readers. We hope you will stay with us on this journey as we try to be both climate-conscious and future-proof.
