This year’s 10th-anniversary edition of the K-Music Festival brims with boundary-pushing showcases and extraordinary collaborations, reflecting the immense impact of Korean music and culture across the world during the last decade and more. Highlights include the eagerly-anticipated opening concert at the Barbican Centre on October 1, featuring award-winning composer Jung Jae-il (Parasite, Squid Game) performing his renowned scores with the London Symphony Orchestra, as well as an essential double-bill with Jambinai and Leenalchi forging an innovative alliance at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank Centre on November 10.

More collaborative magnificence manifests when CelloGayageum and Dasom Baek prepare to unify traditions East and West, past and present, during a mouthwatering team-up at Kings Place, Hall 2 on October 6, before groove& and Duo Bud combine their forces at Kings Place, Hall 1 on October 19 for what promises to be a captivating display of Korean percussive music. Alt-electronic duo Haepaary make their K-Music Festival debut at The Lower Third on October 24, before two drummers close the series out, with Sun Mi Hong leading her crack European quartet in groove-based meditation at Milton Court, Barbican on November 1 and Soojin Suh performing alongside fellow ECM artist Kit Downes with her Chordless Quartet at the Southbank Centre’s Purcell Room on November 12.
