An assortment of Liverpool venues are set to be taken over by music from across Latin America in this year’s La Feria festival. Now in its 6th year, La Feria is a celebration of music, dance, theatre and street art highlighting the rich cultural tapestry of Latin America.
The 2024 edition, taking place September 10-15, features two evenings of music from a multitude of artists. Performers include Chilean artist Nano Stern, who blends roots music, folk, rock, jazz and trova into an experimental explosion of sound, and Marta Gómez, a Colombian singer-songwriter influenced by Latin American greats like Violeta Parra and Mercedes Sosa to create a musical concoction of jazz and Latin-American folk rhythms.
Latin Grammy award-winning bandolimist Hamilton de Holanda will also take to the stage. The artist is well respected for his craft on the bandolim, the Brazilian version of mandolin.
The festivities take place across Liverpool, from the Bluecoat to the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall and beyond, La Feria will also serve up plenty of opportunities to taste traditional cuisine, engage in workshops or try your hand at arts and crafts.
The event has been organised by Luma Creations, an arts & cultural organisation promoting Latin American arts and artists in Liverpool.
