Africa Oyé will be taking over Sefton Park in Liverpool for two days this summer, Saturday 22 & Sunday 23 June, as they once more put on one of the finest events for African music on these isles, an event which remains free for all.
And they've just announced the two headliners, with Les Amazones d'Afrique (the African feminist supergroup featuring Alvie Bitemo, Dobet Gnahoré, Kandy Guira, Mamani Keïta and Fafa Ruffino in an often-rotating line-up) finishing proceedings on Saturday, and Julian Marley, who just nabbed a Grammy for Best Reggae album, headlining Sunday.
The event also promises dance, workshops, DJ stages, food stalls and the rest, with more line-up announcements not too far away.
