Following on from her courageous custom-twisting collaborations with Spanish producer Raül Refree, LINA_ has announced details about her forthcoming full-length, Fado Camões, set for release on January 19 2024 via Galileo Music.

Placing the verse of Luís Vaz de Camões, Portugal’s greatest poet at its heart, the album finds LINA_ embarking on a deeply personal journey, meditating on desire, death and life, her deeply emotive hybrids of fado’s past, present and future captured in the sympathetic production of British composer, musician and recent Songlines award-winner, Justin Adams.

Preceding the album, and providing a titillating foretaste for the imminent main course, is the single ‘O Que Temo E O Que Desejo’ (What I Fear & What I Desire). Here LINA_ is joined by another captivatingly expressive voice from the Iberian Peninsula, Spain’s Rodrigio Cuevas, the pair’s impassioned tones accompanied by lilting Portuguese guitar arpeggios, punctuating handclaps and subtle low-end Moog embellishments, on a track imbued with fado’s fervent spirit, yet charged with a pulsing modernity.
