Acclaimed Cuban singer Omara Portuondo celebrated her 90th birthday in style last week, with an online performance at the Teatro Sauto in the western province of Matanzas, Cuba.
Accompanied by some of the Caribbean’s finest artists, including Los Muñequitos de Matanzas, Orquesta Failde led by Ethiel Failde and the Teatro de Las Estaciones group, the ‘Bride of Feeling’ (who reached her milestone on October 29) was also marking 70 years of music-making and promoting Cuban music worldwide.
