Songlines has won Folk Alliance International’s Lifetime Achievement Award
We are extremely happy to announce that we will be the recipients of an Elaine Weissman Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2025 International Folk Music Awards, which are produced by Folk Alliance International (FAI).
Songlines will be following in the footsteps of legendary institutions such as Smithsonian Folkways Recordings, the Newport Folk Festival, Preservation Hall, Les Blank and the English Folk Dance and Song Society (EFDSS) in winning the Elaine Weissman Lifetime Achievement Award. In announcing the award FAI say: ‘Along with insightful interviews and album reviews, the pages of Songlines introduce readers to new landscapes and perspectives, while the companion album offers traditional and contemporary musical textures from around the world.’
The Lifetime Achievement Award will be given at the 2025 International Folk Music Awards, on the first night of the Folk Alliance International industry conference, which will take place on February 19-23, 2025 in Montréal, Canada.
