It's back! The annual global gala returns to Charlton Park after two difficult years, serving up an eye-catching and eclectic bill boasting everyone from legendary Beninese vocalist Angélique Kidjo and esteemed Malian singer Fatoumata Diawara, to award-winning wordsmith Kae Tempest and avant-rock psychonauts The Flaming Lips.
These big-hitters join a particularly barn-storming programme between July 28-31, brimming with oodles of whoop-ass music from all corners of the world, with scheduled appearances from Fantastic Negrito, Sona Jobarteh, A Certain Ratio, Greentea Peng, Onipa, Nubiyan Twist, Electric Jalaba among the other musical delights.
Alongside this spectacular sonic fare, WOMAD 2022 promises a wealth of extra-curricular attractions, with workshops, talks, celebrity culinary sessions and plenty of child-friendly activities. See you there!
