WOMEX 24 Unveils More artists for October event in Manchester

Organisers have unveiled the complete line-up for three of their stages at this year’s WOMEX in Manchester

Organisers have unveiled the complete line-up for three of their stages at WOMEX 24 in Manchester. Celebrating its 30th Anniversary, the festival will run from October 23-27 this year and, as per usual, will feature artists from around the globe with no focus on any style or culture.

The three stages – the Jury Selected Showcases, Club Summit and Regional: Horizons Stage – will host 47 acts representing 37 countries. In June WOMEX, announced the first wave of artists which included Ali Doğan Gönültaş, Batsükh Dorj, Cristina Clara, Erol JosuéKatarina Barruk, Les Mamans du Congo x Rrobin, Sara Curruchich and Votia. They are now joined by a second wave of artists:

  • Eda Diaz
  • El Laberinto del Coco
  • Madalitso Band
  • Mitsune
  • Orchestra Baobab
  • Pankisi Ensemble
  • Queralt Lahoz
  • Rasha Nahas
  • Sahra Halgan
  • Sarab
  • Stogie T

The Club Summit, which focuses on electronic music and club culture, will feature D[Nowhere]J, Godblesscomputers, Lenhart Tapes, MPeach and Maraboutage presents "Indigo, The Cabaret Club", DJs and artists fusing electronic music with traditional sounds from all corners of the world.

The regional stage, which is Horizons this year, is made up of nine artists from the British Isles. Included in the Horizons lineup are Manchester-based Rioghnach Connolly & Honeyfeet, the latter being BBC Radio 2’s current Folk Singer of the Year, and Songlines Newcomer Award 2022 winners Balimaya Project.
