The latest Cuban Classic is a strange affair: the disco-funk outfit manage to sound oddly reminiscent of 80s UK jazz-funk at times. A phonetically approximate re-rendering of the Commodores’ ‘Brick House’ is perturbing, but there are enough funky numbers to justify a third star (if not the ‘classic’ epithet).
