Hidden Soul of the Fjords

Heidi Torsvik and Lazerus Winter's Hidden Soul of the Fjords invites you to take a Nordic journey of discovery and enlightenment through four pieces of music. The four pieces are called movements: ‘Movement 1: Presence’, ‘Movement 2: Beneath the Surface Touch the Sky’, ‘Movement 3: Shining Darkness’ and Movement 4: Heart'. It is a contemporary soundscape inspired and created from the shores of a fjord in western Norway. A soundtrack with classical scores accompanied by overtones of jazz, Nordic folk and rock with an undercurrent of ambient electronica, trip-hop and field recordings. Torsvik with her soulful and heartfelt vocals acts like a guiding compass for the subtle and delicate arrangements.

Torsvik seems to be looking to create music that paints pictures and has always looked to innovate and explore new approaches: she worked with jazz musician Toots Thielemans as a teenager and she has had success with her alter-ego Heidi Goodbye. American collaborator, producer, composer, artist and multi-instrumentalist Lazerus Winter brings a wealth of experience, engineering, orchestration to proceedings that bare testament to his pedigree of working with Jean-Michel Jarre, Steely Dan and Mike Oldfield. Torsvik and Winter are supported by a number of leading Norwegian musicians for this lovingly crafted journey and soul searching experience that haunts, enlightens, elevates and provides a calming moment of mindful solitude.
