Kystnært has been on permanent play since its arrival. This instrumental journey celebrates the musical heritage and diversity of the Nordic coast. An artistic collaboration between the award-winning Nordic folk outfit Floating Sofa Quartet (FSQ) and Norwegian fiddle player Guro Kvifte Nesheim, that brings to life the rich musical traditions of the Nordic coastal regions. Nesheim stepped in for Clara Tesch with FSQ during the 2021 Folkelarm festival and so it began, sparking an interest to further explore the coastal repertoire of Agder in Southern Norway. FSQ are masters at exploring, rediscovering and recreating Nordic folk music from across seas and borders, both preserving and renewing it. With the Swedish bagpipes and flute of Mads Kjøller Henningsen, accordion and reed organ of Leija Lautamaja, double bass of Malte Zeberg and dueling fiddle/violin of Tesch and Nesheim, the coastal musical stories await you. The 13 tracks ebb and flow like the Nordic seas, inspiring nautical adventures.
