Flamenco musicians have been testing out all kinds of fusions for decades now. Virtuoso guitarist Gerardo Núñez, who has had success with solo albums of flamenco-inflected jazz, here teams up with Swedish acoustic guitarist Ulf Wakenius, following an experimental live performance in Berlin in October 2014. The Spaniard is chief composer/arranger and most definitely lead guitarist, displaying, as on previous releases, an assured, high-velocity playing style as well as a keen ear for melody. But Wakenius’ verve and versatility nonetheless shine through.

Logos here alludes to a divine spark, born of a meeting of like minds and towering talents receptive to all sorts of influence. This is polished flamenco that embraces an audience-friendly playfulness. Four able accompanists help out with palmas, jaleos, vocals and percussion.
