Listening to Neynik, if there is one thing that we would not suspect, it is that Eléonore is French… This recording is the result of the remarkable journey of a French musician who has become a voice of reference for Kurdish music. The quality of the singing is truly exceptional, her low voice is captivating. Combining in-depth knowledge of different Kurdish dialects and varied repertoires that bring together love, spirituality, poems and wedding songs, Fourniau comes up with an excellent recording. With songs ranging from traditional to new compositions, she produces very inventive arrangements, mixing several colours brought together by the talented guests: 35 musicians appear on the recording, among them a Breton flute player, a Spanish oud and saz player and even the great Džambo Aguševi Orchestra. This recording is composed and interpreted with great sensitivity, taking you on a very unique musical journey and putting Kurdish languages in the spotlight with talent.
