Sinan Cem Eroğlu is considered somewhat of a veteran – despite only being in his 30s – with several albums bearing his name on this same label. What is most noteworthy here is that this is essentially a solo album in that the artist, with few exceptions, sings and plays all the instruments on the album himself. These include a number of electric and acoustic guitars (both fretted and fretless), bass, keys and programmed drums and loops. On the 13th and last track he also plays solo the beautiful kaval (end-blown flute), and, elsewhere, the duduk (double-reed woodwind). There is no doubt that Eroğlu performs in all roles with a significant degree of skill that may be considered prodigious.
Thanks to modern studio techniques, the end result flows well, although, due to the intense use of said techniques, the music may, at times, feel overproduced, especially in rhythmical terms. This is not wholly unforgivable due to the strong dimension of electronica with which the compositions are imbued. It would also have to be determined what a live representation of this music would sound like – if that is even on the cards.
